This morning, I had the wild hare to carve some rubber stamps. These are the two I made from some small, dollar store erasers.
I like how primitive and folky they turned out.
It took me awhile to carve them, as I have no feeling in my hands, but it was relaxing. I listened to my iTunes while I puttered.
There's something very satisfying about making your own stamps. I want to make more. It really isn't all that hard and if I can do it, so can YOU!
If you need a really good tutorial I recommend Gennine's. Penn pointed me in her direction and if you don't know about Gennine's blog, you should!
Remember the wonderful funky tea mug I bought from Starbuck's as a birthday gift to myself? Well that was my inspiration. I just couldn't resist! Now I can stamp it into my journal and anywhere else I please!
If you get inspired to carve yourself some stamps, let me know and I'll link ya! The more eyecandy, the better. *wink*

those are wonderful! I'm inspired to make some now-- is it essential to have a lino cutter tool, though, or would a plain craft knift do? because that's all I have.
These are great! I love to carve stamps.
I love those stamps! Good job You!
These are adorable! I have a pack of those dollar store erasers, too...just waiting to BECOME something! Maybe I can carve something cute and tiny for this weekend's upcoming art fair...along with everything else I need to do to get ready! Yikes!
This is great. I was planning on buying a carving block to play with making some custom stamps but I think I'll try working with inexpensive erasers first.
so funny...I bought the same mug with plans to mimic the design on edge of my journal pages. I love Starbucks mugs.
