Another One for the Books

So here is my summer project. I decided to host an ATC collaborative book with "crowns" as the theme. It is chock full of lovely little ATCs. The finished books just went postal yesterday so I can't share the pages with you-the participants haven't even seen them yet! So...all you get to see for now is my cover, which was lots of fun to make. I am absolutely in love with this particular scrapbook paper. It's vintage aqua, with cream colured polka dots, outlined in red. I think I bought about a dozen sheets of this stuff I liked it so much.

I printed the little guy from a vintage photo I bought at an ephemera store in Pike Place Market while I was in Seattle on vacation. I colourized his outfit (love the overalls!) and then when I glued him down, I wrapped the perle cotton string around his hands. I also added the wee star and made his crown from a yard stick paper I had. I love making book covers.

So these adorable little books are headed to Lynn Adams, Penelope Harris, Michelle Parnell, Janice Rusnak, Heather Simpson-Bluhm, Liz Smith and Deb Trotter. Thanks Ladies for you wonderful contributions!

Speaking of Deb Trotter, CONGRATULATIONS to Deb on being published in Lynn Perrella's new book, Beyond Paper Dolls. It's so exciting and so very well deserved!! Your doll is beautiful!

I have mailed off my registration and I am waiting on pins and needles to hear which classes I will be taking at Artfest. I am looking forward to taking another "birthday trip" in the spring and hanging out with friends. It's 6 months away, but I know the time will fly.

Okay, I got up early so I could get some work done before I have to head to the hair dresser's this afternoon. If only it didn't take a 2 hour chunk out of the middle of my day! While I like having new hair, I hate sitting there doing nothing for 2 hours. Maybe I will take my Somerset magazine and read it while I am there. Believe it or not, we just got them in here in Canada. It seems silly that it's been out for a month in the US and we are just now getting our hands on them. They take forever to ship and it's old news to the rest of my friends by the time I first see it. *sigh*

Have a good weekend everyone!
