Learn By Doing

Yesterday I had Photoshop CS2 installed. Now I know nothing about using it, but with some fiddling around, I managed to edit a vintage photograph (completely removed the original background, leaving only the girl) and add some cool details and I created this postcard! While I am not sure if it's any good (technically) I am kinda pleased with my pseudo techie little self. Not I just need to find some halfway decent paper to print it on so the colours don't look so flat. (I printed it off onto regular cardstock and I am not too impressed with the lack of crispness.)

I have ordered a copy of PS for Dummies from my library for the version I have so hopefully I can learn a few things from reading it. Never fear though-I am not abondoning traditional collage-just adding to my art skills!

WOW! I am very very impressed! You go girl! how did you remove the background and have such a clean edge image? I must be doing it wrong since mine never look that good!

Holy cow that looks awesome!!! I certainly never would have guessed that you've never used Photoshop before!

I'm so wanting the new version...I have version 7 and it can't do nearly as much cool stuff as CS2. I'm gonna have to sell tons of stuff in order to get it, the new Adobe Illustrator, and go to Artfest. Guess the new software will have to wait a while.

Can't wait to see what else you create with your newest art tool! :) ~Paulette
