Journal Love!

I have been very busy in the studio, sewing like a madwoman. I've now completed my first journal in Mary Ann Moss' Remains of the Day class. It's all ready to journal in! I can't tell you how pleased I am. I made a little flip video to share it with you.

I also got the wild hare to sew myself a scarf. I found the easiest pattern online and made not one, but two! I will provide links when I post photos-it's been a busy weekend and I haven't had the chance to take any pictures yet. One is deep rich red and the other navy. The red one goes with my team jacket which is black, cream and red. The navy one will be worn during the Olympics, underneath my turquoise uniform jacket, though now I am wondering if I'm even going to need it-it was a balmy 7C today and the sun was shining!

So far January has been exceptionally productive. It feels good to be inspired and learn something new.

oh wow, that was SO cool! I love the sewn look, and it's time like this I wish I had a sewing machine so I could have a try at something like that. :) I love your "guided tour" though all the pages, and you and I are soulmates as far as hoarding paper goodies goes, because I too keep EVERYTHING, haha. (I kept Ruth's #12 label as well, and when I saw it in your journal, it made me smile. great minds!)

What a great idea to do a video to show your journal pages! I loved hearing the 'provenance' of each page.

I'm in Mary Ann's class too - have made two covers but no pages yet. For some reason, I find the pages daunting. In the meantime, my work space is getting a good overhaul while I 'get ready' to do them :-)

I loved watching your video while having my morning coffee. Great job, love the papers you used, and the size of your book. I am really partial to some of those papers...the glassine cowboy, the red labels, the Ikea paper,oh all of it. Nice to get to hear your voice as well.

This is very cool and its fun o hear the "stories" behind the bits and pieces. I already sewed my signatures in but I am hoping to add more of the goodies you sent me. I do not have a Flip but my new iPod has a video camera so I think i will attempt to share one of my journals this way too! HUGS!!

I picked your blog at random off of Mary Ann Moss' site - what a happy accident! Your journal is so beautifully done!

I just started the class and am in the process of cobbling together my cover. My goal for myself since last year is to not buy anything new in the way of fabric or craft supplies until I've used up what I've got. Oh, easier said than done - especially when I see all the Remains of the Day journals!

Here's my question on your journal, though: What did you use to make the wrap tie? It's beautiful and fits the design of your journal so well!

Your video was great! I look forward to seeing more!
