Fragments Of Me

I'm DONE!! I finally completed my 2012 Sketchbook project and managed to complete it 2 two days before the deadline. (GO ME!)

I made a Flip video of so I could share it with you before I send it off. Please excuse how unfocused I seem-I was very under the weather when I filmed this yesterday with a pounding migraine and it's hard to think when that's happening.

In the video, I mentioned that I have postcards in my Etsy shop. If you're wondering where to find them, just click my etsy link on the side bar, et voila!

I've created a Flickr set for my Sketchbook Project if you want to see the pages up close. You can find it here. It was fun working on this. I did it very loosey goosey-I sewed some pages together ROD style and then just started laying stuff down and adding to it as I went along, with no real plan in mind. It was a good exercise in just going with the flow.
For those of you who are local, The Sketchbook Project is coming to Vancouver in May on the 15th & 16th. You will be able to see it for yourself at W2 Media Cafe, 111 W. Hastings St., Vancouver, BC. May is
shaping up to be a very busy month!

Remains of the Day: 2011 Journal

Okay! I finally have a new Flip video to share with you of my 2011 Remains of the Day journal. It's taken me all year, working on it in fits and starts to get it completed, but I was perfectly okay with that.

As I was uploading this video, I realized there's a ton of ROD journal videos on Youtube now. I find that really amusing because I was the first person in Mary Ann Moss' class to create one and now everyone's doing it. Apparently I have brilliant ideas every now and again!

Anyway, without further ado, here's the latest ROD in my personal collection!

Stack Attack!

Today Seth Apter invited artists far and wide to share their stacks. Mine tend to be of vintage Canadian books (mostly school books that reference Canada in some way on the cover) and Remains of the Day journals (RODs). Here are the stacks of journals, though a few are missing-they were made for friends and have long since gone off to their new homes.

The smallest one on top was the very first ROD I ever made. The second one in the middle is my 2010 Olympic & Paralympic journal, housing all my memories of that incredible time in my life. The third, is the one I'm currently working on.

There's 2 very full signatures. I'm at the point now where I'm just going back through the pages and adding smaller details. I hope to have it done by the end of October.

Fur Babies

As promised, here are the two of the cutest puppies in the world, Indy, my dog and Dexter, my best friend Lisa's dog!

Just ignore the "music" in the background-it was the TV. *sigh*

Aqua Dog!

As promised, here's a brief clip of Indy at the lake yesterday. I used our digi camera so the audio is all garbled. (It's just random people talking on the beach, so you're not missing anything.) Next time I will take my Flip which does much better with sound. (Live and learn!)

Anyway, feel free to adore my sweet dog. I just love seeing him so happy and he's happiest when he's in the water, doing what Labs do best-swimming and retrieving.

In Concert

Last night my husband and I and Lisa & Lance, our friends went to dinner at The Lime in Vancouver. The reason we went there is my pal Farrell was playing there, along with Tricia Klien & Frazey Ford of the Be Good Tanyas.

The venue was really great-we were actually sitting less than 5 feet from the stage, so we had prime seats. It was amazing to see the concert from that close.

Farrell is heading off in a matter of days for a year in Ireland to release her second album. I'm really going to miss her, especially around the holidays, but she'll be back in a year and we'll keep in touch via email while she's gone. I am really excited for her. It feels good to see the people you love happy in their lives.
