Artfest Part 1

So...Artfest...so much to say! I will have to do this in installments, since I took so many photos. Starting with Wednesday, seems logical.

On Wednesday, my friend Penn and I left home at 8:30 a.m. and headed for the Lynden border crossing. We were plesantly surprised to find ONE car in front of us when we got there. (That never happens!) After the usual questions, we were across and on our way. We managed to catch the noon ferry to Pt. Townsend and had time to shop in the fabulous bead store, have lunch at the Stillwater Cafe and find a Safeway so we could pick up some groceries. We arrived at the Fort in time for the 3 p.m. check in.

When we checked in, we got this wonderful (pink) bag of goodies which included a schedule, postcards, licorice, the Eye Candy issue of Portals Zine along with an envelope with a challenge in it. (It had a tin of cacao nibs covered in expresso chocolate. The idea was to eat the nibs and then alter the tin to win prizes. I forgot all about mine.) There was also this really fun "yearbook" Teesha created that I forgot to include in this pic. I will have to remember to take a photo tomorrow and add it. Anyway, it was good stuff!

Also in my goodie bag was a letter from Teesha thanking those of us who participated in the Thank you book after attending Artfest last year. The finished book was on display in the office and gallery area so I made sure I took a couple of pics.

These are some of of the trades I received-lots of charms, some ATCs, small books, bags of ephemera and embellishments, ornaments, small wallets made of paper or fabric and magnets. Everything was made with such care and I truely do appreciate being on the receiving end of all this artsy goodness. I made a bracelet with some of my charms, which I will share with you in tomorrow's post.

That's all the photos Blogger will allow me to upload to one post, but pop by tomorrow and I will have more for you! I am off to work on finishing a couple of my projects so I can share them!
