Why Science Is Cool

See this medal? This is the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay Medal. It's the original one that passed from Difference Maker to Difference Maker, through over 600 Canadian communities, travelling 12,000 km from coast to coast in 2012. As you can see from the photo, it also passed through my hands, here in British Columbia, in mid-May last year. (If you missed it, the posts about that amazing experience are here.)

Right now this medal is orbiting the earth, in the possession of Commander Chris Hadfield, on the International Space Station. It's really cool to think something that I wore around my neck and held in my own two hands is now in outer space! Amazing

Life is truly magical. Anything is possible.
