This year's gallery theme was 8x8 canvasses. I did mine about a week before leaving for Artfest. I struggled with the large size, but in the end, I was happy with what I did. I just find working small is my "thing". (My piece is the one with all the 8's on it in the photos directly above this.) The work that was submitted was amazing-true eye candy!
We were supposed to go pick up our canvas or a check (if it was for sale and it sold) after class on Saturday, but I totally blanked and headed into town to do some quick shopping instead. I didn't remember till show and tell in the evening and by then the Artfest office was closed. The next morning when I went to return my key, I went into the office and asked about it. I was told all unclaimed pieces were on a table so I went to look. Imagine my surprise when it wasn't there and a cheque was waiting for me instead!! WOW! That's the first canvass I have ever sold and thank you to whomever bought it. (If it's you and you are reading this, please email me!) It was very validating to know someone liked it enough to buy it. *smiles* That totally made my day! (And thanks Tara for encouraging me to put a price tag on it-I wouldn't have if you had not encouraged me to risk. I owe you in the support and encourage department!)
More tales from Artfest to follow. (I have plenty more pictures!)

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for sharing these stories and pics! I've been reading your blog, and I really want to go to Artfest one day, so this is really fun for me! And congratulations for selling your piece! :)
I had such a wonderful time talking with you during our artsy weekend. I could feel your joy and your spirit.....it was beautiful!!! I hope we get to see one another again soon...possibly at a Bellingham ATC trade?
Blessings, Sherri

Congrats on your 8x8 sale. Woo hoo for you! Love all your pictures, it is allowing me to re-live it all. Especially the frenetic energy shot which is oh so true.
I was thrilled to meet you, just wish we would have had more time.
